About the Role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Capital Programmes team and support the delivery of major infrastructure and investment projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that improve learning environments, support innovation, and deliver long-term benefits for communities. You’ll be involved in projects from planning and appraisal through to delivery, working with a wide range of stakeholders and industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support capital projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Review project proposals, business cases, and funding applications.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and performance.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Support the management and allocation of project funding.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant policies, governance, and procurement requirements.
  • Work closely with consultants, contractors, delivery partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of systems, processes, and reporting tools.
  • Support continuous improvement and best practice across projects and programmes.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Degree (Level 7 or higher) in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Surveying, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
    • Project management
    • Construction or infrastructure projects
    • Capital investment planning
    • Project appraisal
    • Programme delivery
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, PMP, PMI, or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience working in infrastructure, construction, education, or the public sector.
  • Knowledge of procurement and governance requirements.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, ArcGIS, or AutoCAD.
