Flexiforce, A Hartley People Company in partnership with SOLAS are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Desktop Publisher to join the SOLAS team, based in Dublin. This role involves designing and formatting materials for both print and online publication, ensuring a seamless integration of text, graphics, and visual elements. The ideal candidate will have experience with publishing software and a keen eye for aesthetics and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging page layouts for brochures, educational materials, and assessments in print and digital formats.
- Review and refine content, including text, graphics, and other elements, to ensure consistency and quality.
- Edit and adjust visuals such as photographs, illustrations, and other graphic elements.
- Import and organize text and images within publishing software to meet project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to format assessment questions, incorporating images and text as needed.
- Adjust formatting elements such as text size, column width, and spacing for optimal readability.
- Proofread and revise layouts to correct errors and enhance presentation.
- Prepare and submit final files for printing or upload them to online platforms.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, or similar tools).
- Proficiency in integrating visual and textual elements to create cohesive documents.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of design principles and layout techniques.
- Familiarity with digital publishing platforms is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
