Assistant Accountant

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our clients small but busy Finance team and support the Financial Director in maintaining the financial integrity of their operations. As part of a supportive and fast-paced environment, you will play a crucial role in various accounting functions within their organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Handle reconciliations and payments efficiently.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage payment allocations and credit notes accurately.
  • Journal Postings: Perform bank and manual journal entries with precision.
  • Trial Balance: Demonstrate the ability to bring accounts to trial balance stage.
  • Month-End Reporting: Assist in month-end reporting activities, ensuring compliance with tight deadlines, with the potential to assume full responsibility for these tasks.
  • Revenue Compliance: Ensure adherence to revenue compliance regulations.
  • CSO Compliance: Maintain compliance with CSO regulations.
  • Audit Liaison: Collaborate with internal and external auditors as necessary.
  • Payroll Support: Provide assistance with payroll processing.
  • Adhoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Your Profile:

  • Diplomatic and Confidential: Thrive in a diverse environment, maintaining diplomacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Ambitious and Enthusiastic: Exhibit ambition and enthusiasm, coupled with strong interpretative and communicative skills.
  • Interest in Accounting/Bookkeeping: Demonstrate an interest in accounting/bookkeeping, with professional qualification studies being supported.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Report Preparation: Familiarity with preparing various reports.
  • Organizational Skills: Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and Teamwork Skills: Excel in interpersonal communication and teamwork, coupled with effective self-management abilities.
  • Education and Experience: Hold a third-level qualification in business/accounting or relevant accounting qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced accounting role, ideally within the industry.
